We won’t be returning to Secrets Costa Rica and will definitely been looking harder at what’s really clean in our future visits to the secrets brand resorts. It’s hard to rate this trip, because if we didn’t see the bugs at the end, we would have been completely satisfied. The representative said, “so are you going to report us?” That was it, no apology, no nothing. She also showed him multiple photos of the bed bugs themselves and our bites. While we were there, my fiancé told the front desk representative that room 202 had bed bugs. Very disgusting! We went to the lobby and waited for our taxi to the airport. The bed bugs were also crawling on the floor near the toilet, table, and bathroom area. There was a hole in the mattress filled with bed bugs. It wasn’t until the last day, when we had to wake up early for our flight home that we noticed what was biting us. I saw a couple blood spots in the bed sheets, but figured it was nothing. But we shrugged it off because Costa Rica in general has more bugs. As the trip went on, we started noticing bug bites on our legs and arms. We set up multiple excursions and every time the staff was more then helpful. The food was mediocre, compared to our other secrets experiences, But we didn’t mind, because we were on vacation and looking forward to relaxing. However, the liquor bottles were a little watered down, and the usual top shelf brands weren’t available. We didn’t seem to mind the shuttle service either. We also upgraded to the VIP and we loved the view from our room. The staff actually helped me set up a proposal dinner with candle light on the beach. The service wasn’t quite as good as in Mexico, but if you needed anything, someone was glad to help.
On our most recent stay at secrets in Costa Rica, we started off just as great. So it’s hard to believe I’m writing this. We stayed at the secrets the vine in Cancun and fell in love with the environment and 5 star treatment. First off, I’d like to start by saying we love the Secrets Resorts.
